Raise Max (OP06-016) is a critical debuff utility for both FILM and Revolutionary Army archetypes. His [Activate:Main] ability allows you to tuck him under the deck to reduce an opponent's power by 3,000. This is an incredible tempo swing for a 1-cost card, as it effectively puts almost any blocker within KO range for your attackers or Leader effects.
Because he places himself at the bottom of the deck, he circumvents "On KO" effects and ensures he can be recycled later if you have deck-searching abilities. His dual subtype makes him one of the most flexible 1-drops in the set, fitting into a variety of aggressive and control strategies that rely on softening the opponent's board.
Key Strategic Synergies
- Belo Betty (OP05-001): Max provides the power reduction needed for Betty's swarm to clear larger blockers with ease.
- Uta (OP06-001): Being a FILM character, he can be searched and used to double-down on Uta's own power-reduction effects.
- Emporio.Ivankov (OP06-003): Can be cheated out from the deck, providing an instant -3000 threat on the same turn.
Pro Strategy Tip: Hold Raise Max in your hand until you are ready to make a lethal push. Playing him early makes him a target; playing him and immediately using his effect on the turn you swing for game is his most powerful use case.
